India Post Cup - The first Institutional Cricket Invitation Tournament being organized by the Department of Posts is going to be held at Kolkata from January 11 to 15, 2010

India Post Cup - the first Institutional Cricket Invitation Tournament being organized by the Department of Posts is going to be held at Kolkata from January 11 to 15.2010. The Tournament has been recognized by the BCCI.



The Tournament will be inaugurated on January 11, 2010 at 08 30 hours at Jadavpur University (2nd Campus) Ground, Salt Lake, Kolkata. Shri.Sourav Ganguly Ex.Captain of Indian Cricket Team is likely to inaugurate.



The Closing Ceremony will be held on Januray 15, 2010 at 1600 hours at Eden Garden, Kolkata. Man of the series award will be given in the closing ceremony. A special cover on Pankaj Roy, a legend of Indian Cricket will be on this occasion. Shri.Jagmohan Dalmiya, President CAB will be the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony.



The participating teams in the tournament are india post, Services, Air India, BSNL, Indian Revenue and CAB President XI. The tournament will be played under the rules and regulations laid down by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on league cum knock out basis. Teams will be divided in two groups. Group A consists of the teams from India Post. Services and CAB Group B consists of the teams from Air India, BSNL & Revenue. All will be of 40 over matches. Former National/International cricketers will act as match referee/umpire. Man of the match award will be given after every match.


The winners will get an award of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh) only and Runner-up team will get an award of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) only.
