In case of death of Central Government Servant
while in service, Death Gratuity is granted at the
following rates depending upon the length of
qualifying service put in by the deceased employees: -
Length of Service | Rate of Death Gratuity |
---|---|
Less than one year | 2 times of emoluments |
One year or more but less than 5 years | 6 times of emoluments |
5 years or more but less than 20 years | 12 times of emoluments |
Emoluments means
Pay in the Pay Band + Dearness Allowance
admissible on the date of death.

Rate of Death Gratuity for the service of 20 years or more is
"Half of emoluments for every completed six monthly period of service"
subject to a maximum of 33 times of emoluments
or Rs. 10 lakhs, whichever is less.

This is with reference to your DCRG calculation posted on 31-01-2009.
ReplyDeleteIn your calcuation you are not adopting one fourth of the emoluments last drawn for each completed six monthly peirod of qualifying service.

ReplyDeletethe post regarding the DCRG is wrong and misleading. The maximum limit of DCRG is 33 times of emoluments las drawn. You are showing 45 times and 66 times is totally against the present rules
